Publishing

Prospective Authors.

1    Definitions

2     It is agreed that the author is the person specified at the onset of an enquiry.

3     Bonker Books shall design the whole front cover

4     Copyright shall include the entire book including book cover design.

5    Service provided

6     On acceptance of manuscript your book will be,

7     Proof read, edited with suggested amendments if applicable. All editing is non stylistic and does not affect the authors own written style.

8     Press release and synopsis of your book will be provided to assist in the marketing of your book

9     We will provide an ISBN International Standard Book Number for your book

10  Your book will be registered and priced with Nielson Book Data on receipt and acceptance of your manuscript

11  5 copies of your book will be forwarded to the British Library as a legal requirement.

12  All books are in paperback unless specifically requested and the cost will reflect the authors requirements

13  Graphics and cartoons will be complied in-house by our artists and charged accordingly unless specified otherwise

14  Customised book covers are our speciality and should be strong and powerful, and relate to the content, which we believe is the difference from picking up a book to actually buying a book.

15  Liaison with the author is consistent and all the authors request and ideas are taken into consideration whilst preparing a mock book cover.

16  Our dedicated team of proof readers, editors and technicians are available throughout the whole process.

17  Once proof read and all amendments agreed by the author, the book is subsequently formatted and downloaded for printing. This includes page layout, page numbers and all insertions, in order, specified by the author.

18  Your book will be placed on our website on the latest publication page and will be the centre of this site for two weeks.

19  10 copies of the final book will be sent to the author with our compliments.

20  Reviews of your book will be added to the site where possible.

21  Royalties will be paid at 40% every 12 months.

22Distribution. 

23  Your book will be available from Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and the Bonker books website.

24  All other means of distribution will be exploited by the publisher on the author’s behalf.

25  The author will be able to purchase multiple books for personal use and for personal book signings at a discounted price from Bonker books.

27  Promotional material to include business cards, post cards, customised posters and T- shirts available if required

28  Further advice on writing courses and personal assistance on writing in general are all available, including ghost- writing

29  In the first instance, please read our site and ensure your manuscript can stand alongside the range of material we have on offer.

30  We are passionate about our world and the animals that are abysmally treated throughout and all our team and authors endorse this view totally.

31  We have a varied subject matter and only pursue work that demonstrates passion and belief of the written subject.

32  All costs of publishing are based on manuscript size, graphic requirements and general design.

33  In the first instance , please submit an enquiry with the following-

34  Name and address, including an email address.

35  Title of manuscript and word count. At this stage a synopsis of 3,000 words of the novel along with the first three chapters in order and all attached as one document. If the manuscript is not as yet completed, we need to know your completed timescale. Please do not send the whole manuscript unless we have requested it. We need the estimated word count to give you an estimated book cost, if we wish to pursue the work further.
